Your NDIS letters, dates and proof, kept for you.

I keep every NDIS letter, report and deadline in one place, remind you before anything is due, and get your evidence ready for your next review. All in plain words.

What you get, an example
plan_decision_letter.pdf
What this is A letter from the NDIA about a decision on your plan. It explains what was approved, and whether anything was not approved.
  • 1

Find the decision date at the top of the letter. Reviews must be requested within 3 months.

  • 2

Read what was and wasn't approved, and why, in plain language, not NDIS wording.

  • 3

If something feels wrong, I'll show you how to request a review, and what evidence may help.

Explanations are generated by AI, not a human, and may contain mistakes. Always verify anything important yourself.

What I do for you

I keep your NDIS proof and dates, so nothing gets missed and you're ready for every review.

Deadlines and reminders

I find the dates in your letters, count down to each one, and email you 7 days and 2 days before.

A library for everyone you care for

Each person gets their own place for letters, plans and reports, so nothing gets mixed up.

Guided NDIS forms

I walk you through the Access Request Form, the Consent form and a review request, one question at a time.

Summaries to share

Make a short summary for a school, therapist, GP, support coordinator or NDIS partner.

Claims and funding

Keep track of your invoices and see how much of each budget you've used.

PaperCalm is an independent tool. It isn't affiliated with the NDIS or the NDIA.

The most important thing to know

NDIS access is based on how much support someone needs for daily life, not on a diagnosis being on some approved list. If you've been told a condition "isn't recognised", that's often not the full picture, ask for a formal decision in writing, and get evidence of how it actually affects daily life.

What evidence actually helps
  • A letter or report from a treating professional, ideally someone who's treated the person for 6+ months
  • Confirmation the condition is permanent, or likely to be permanent
  • How it affects daily life: communication, learning, moving around, self-care, or social interaction
Who to actually talk to
  • Your GP or specialist, for evidence of the condition's impact
  • A Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or Early Childhood Partner, for guidance on applying
  • The NDIA directly on 1800 800 110, if you're not sure where to start
Realistic timeframes
  • After applying: the NDIA should get back to you within 21 days of receiving your application, either with a decision or a request for more information.
  • If the NDIA asks for more information: you have at least 90 days to send it. Check your letter for the exact date. If you need more time, contact the NDIA before that date. If nothing is sent in time, your application may be treated as withdrawn.
  • After sending the information: once the NDIA has everything it needs, it has 14 days to make a decision.
  • Plan approved: targeted within 56 days of being accepted (90 days for children under 7)
  • Honest reality: these are legal targets, actual performance often runs longer, so a delay doesn't always mean something's wrong

New from 1 October 2026: Thriving Kids

If your child is 8 or under and has autism or developmental delay with low to moderate support needs, some of what used to run through the NDIS is now moving to a new program called Thriving Kids, which is separate from the NDIS. PaperCalm currently covers NDIS paperwork only, so for the moment PaperCalm doesn't cover Thriving Kids. I'll keep watching this and update if that changes.

Am I eligible? The 5 things that matter

Straight from the NDIS's own eligibility guide, in plain language.

  1. 1
    Prove who you are

3 identity documents: one showing your birth or arrival in Australia (like a birth certificate, passport, or citizenship certificate), and two showing you live in the community (like a Medicare card, a bank card, or a utility bill), with at least one of the three being photo ID.

  2. 2
    Meet the age limit

Under 65 when you apply. Under 9, there's a separate early childhood approach. Over 65, the NDIS points you to aged care instead.

  3. 3
    Live in Australia

An Australian citizen, permanent resident, or Protected Special Category visa holder, and Australia is genuinely where you live.

  4. Plus one of these two
  5. 4
Have a permanent disability affecting daily life

Either a permanent impairment you'll likely need lifelong support for, or one that substantially affects daily activities, social life, work, or study.

  6. 5
    Or qualify for early intervention

If getting support now would genuinely reduce how much support you need later, this can also qualify you.

How it works

PaperCalm works out where you are in your NDIS journey, then walks you through it, one small step at a time.

  1. Tell me where you're at

A few quick questions: just starting out, a few years in, or getting ready for a plan review. No NDIS jargon needed.

  2. See your path

Your dashboard shows the steps that matter for you right now, from checking eligibility, to your first plan, to reviews, and the one thing to do next.

  3. Add your documents

Take a photo of or upload any NDIS letter, plan, or report. I explain it in plain words, flag any deadlines, and keep the summary in one place for everyone you care for.

  4. Fill in the right forms

When a form is due, PaperCalm brings up the right one and fills in what it can from what you've already added. You check it, and you submit it yourself.

You stay in control. PaperCalm never contacts the NDIS or submits anything for you.

Everything stays organised, in one place

Once you're in, PaperCalm keeps track of your documents, what's due, and where things stand, for everyone you're caring for.

Questions

Do you store my documents?

I don't keep your original document. It's held securely only while it's being read, then deleted straight away, and anything left behind by a dropped connection is cleared out within a day. To write your explanation, the document's content is also processed by my AI provider, Anthropic. Anthropic deletes it within 30 days and never uses it to train its models (it only keeps content longer if it's flagged for breaking its usage rules). What I keep is the plain-language summary, saved to your account so you can find it again. I never sell your information.

Will this tell me what decision to make?

No. PaperCalm explains what a document says and breaks the task into steps. It doesn't give legal, medical, or financial advice. For real decisions, I'll always point you towards a professional.

Do I need to make an account?

Just your email, no password to remember. I send you a code to log in, and your dashboard is saved for whenever you come back.

What kinds of documents can I upload?

NDIS letters, plan documents, decision letters, forms, and reports from your GP, specialist, or support coordinator, anything that's part of your NDIS journey.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Log in from the homepage using your email. Once you're in, go to your dashboard and select "Manage subscription". From there you can cancel or update your payment details any time, no need to email me.
